OVERVIEW





Our team had the exciting opportunity to design and implement an interactive exhibition titled "Curiosity Corner" for a renowned maritime museum. The goal was to engage visitors in a journey through space and time, showcasing the development of containers and ports industry.



OBJECTIVES





1. Create an immersive experience that educates and entertains visitors.

2. Foster a sense of curiosity and wonder about exploration.

3. Utilize cutting-edge technology to enhance visitor engagement.

4. Ensure accessibility and inclusivity for a diverse audience.



INTERACTIVE TECH PLAYGROUND



CHALLENGE



The project involved 5 zones, using various technologies, such as AR, 5G, interactive projections, motion sensor and robotics. However, some of these technologies were not fully compatible or reliable with the devices or the environment. I had to work closely with the engineers team to troubleshoot and resolve these issues. I also had to create product spec docs to minimize any problems when implementing the designs.



AR PHOTOBOOTH - ROLE PLAY OF THE MARITIME WORLD



Step into our AR Photobooth for an immersive role-playing experience in the maritime world. Play the part of a captain, a diver, or a Hakan community member as you create memorable and interactive snapshots. Let the maritime adventures unfold as you embody different roles in this engaging and unique photo experience.



SCREENING ZONE - A CLOSER LOOK AT MARITIME PRACTIONERS



This Zone brings you the firsthand narratives of Hong Kong's maritime practitioners. Nothing beats the authenticity of real stories to offer an intimate glimpse into the bustling maritime world of Hong Kong. We extend our gratitude to all the featured interviewees in "A Closer Look at Hong Kong Maritime Practitioner." Tune in to hear their captivating stories and gain insights into their experiences with Hong Kong's maritime marvel. Welcome to a riveting exploration of the maritime realm!



game zone - meet the robot



Step into the Game Zone where you'll meet our dynamic duo of robots. While one robot takes a break, recharging for its next adventure, the other ventures out to warmly greet visitors. Engage with the robots to discover more about the exhibition or test your knowledge by answering as many questions as possible within the time limit. It's a futuristic encounter filled with exploration and interactive fun!



GAME ZONE - QUIZ CHALLENGE



Dive into the fascinating world of containers and ports through our Quiz Wall, featuring 38 interactive containers. Each container holds a quiz question related to the evolution of the containers and ports industry, with answers scattered throughout the exhibition. Simply touch to open a container, unveil the question, and test your knowledge.



game zone - 5g tele control toy forklift



Embark on an exciting journey in our Game Zone featuring the 5G Tele-Control Toy Forklift. Become the master of logistics as you control the forklift using the screen and manipulate the controller. Choose between two challenging tracks: the bustling pier or the intricate warehouse.

This game is not just about fun; it mirrors the challenges faced by local warehouses – high labor and rental costs. Enter the world of 5G technology, offering high-speed and low-latency data transmission. Now, you can tele-control multiple stackers simultaneously, incorporating advanced technologies like live image processing with cameras and distance detection using laser technology (LiDAR). It's a gaming experience that merges entertainment with cutting-edge warehouse solutions!



OUTCOME



This exhibition provided an engaging and interactive learning experience for visitors to explore containers and ports. It boosted museum traffic by 24% throughout the exhibition, and I received numerous positive comments on social media. Overall, it was a highly successful exhibition. Positive feedback highlighted the immersive and educational aspects of the experience. Surveys indicated a significant improvement in visitor knowledge about historical exploration events. School groups praised the exhibition's ability to enhance classroom learning.
